Co you think Gitmo confinement might get them to fess up? Oh, wait. A case could be made that they are government employees - a Congressional hearing is in order!
Penguins have flightless wings, all the better to swim with, my dear
Mon May 20, 2013
@ #s 1,2,&3. The author in no way suggested that the penguins exhibited free will. "Chose" and "sacrificed" are frequently used words when writing stories about evolutionary paths. I found the article well-written, albeit for an audience of early learners about penguins and/or evolution.
Puzzling! Swine flu virus detected in elephant seals off West Coast
Sat May 18, 2013
Learning more about the transmission vector seems appropriate. What are the consequences if this virus shows up in fish. Will an important part of the human food supply be comprised? Or not? Fish-based fertilizer. Safe for use on crops for human consumption? (Probably, but are we sure?) Etc.

Deborah The Big Bang Theory doesn't answer your question, but is a somewhat reasonable interpretation of observations in an attempt to deduce our journey from the "beginning" to now. We are getting close, but if and when we arrive at a point zero (no space, no time) we will still wonder about who o …

No. 1 swimming pool problem? It's number two!

@cried #1.40 24 lbs vs. 22.04 lbs? Less than 10% error. And yes that much error is very significant in many circumstances. Consider the context. More disturbing is that the "reporter" and/or (chuckle) "editor" failed to flag the error with a (sic). Perhaps it was a typo. (Where is that editor?!)
The North Pole moves as ice sheets melt
Wed May 15, 2013
Twice in the article, reference is made to eastward movement of the pole. Any change in its position relative to where it was will always be to the south.
